Are xbox 360 controllers interchangeable?

A common question asked about controllers is if the different controllers, as in the ones supplied with the different consoles (arcade, pro, elite, super elite) are interchangeable for use on any of the consoles.

The answer is yes.

Just make sure when you are changing between consoles that you press the sync button on the controller (on the top between the shoulder buttons) first and everything should work fine and without any problems.

Useful if you have a preference in terms of controller colour.
