Can I use my Xbox 360 VGA cable to play games on my laptop/computer screen?
Written by 360 offers on November 16, 2009 – 9:32 pm -“I would like to use my Xbox 360 with my computer monitor as I do not have a spare TV. Is there anything that I need to get this to work?”
The answer to this question is in two parts:
Laptop screen
The xbox 360 will not work through a standard laptop screen as the vga socket on a laptop is a vga output and not vga input. The socket on a laptop is designed to send the picture from a laptop to a tv screen so this will not work.
Computer screen
Provided your monitor has at least one vga connection then you will just need a standard xbox 360 vga cable which can be plugged into this connector. You may need to play around with the resolution settings to get the picture you want but thats about all you need to do.
