The Resurgence map pack will include the following bundle of maps which much like its predecessor Stimulus includes three new maps and two re worked versions of maps already seen in the first Modern Warfare.

The new levels are called Trailer Park which is a small and condensed maze type map, Carnival which will be based on an abandoned amusement park and Fuel which is another sniper friendly map this time set in an oil refinery.

The two levels set to make a comeback from the previous MW are Vacant and Strike.

With the price rumoured to be the same as the Stimulus pack being 1200 Microsoft points (around £10.20) the maps are far from cheap but given the popularity of the previous map packs I’m sure there will be a similar uptake and after all they help keep the game fresh and increase the playability.

Resurgence is due for release on Xbox Live on June 3rd obviously for Xbox 360. Playstation owners will have to wait a little longer with no official date yet announced, another good reason to stick with the Xbox 360!

MW2 Resurgence Map Pack Details

Looking every bit as good as WaW the trailer sets the scene and shows strong hints of a Vietnam scenario for the game.

GameTrailers.com have broken down the trailer content further with some very well spotted hints on what to expect of the game when it is released:

As you can see there are some references to Cobra & Huey helicopters, Vietnam jungle, Steyr Aug, M60, MAC-V SOG soldier, Viet-cong and an SR-71 pilot in the video all designed to create hype and keep us guessing on what the game will hold.

Plus the presence of Twitter and Facebook on the main COD:BA site shows they are looking to push the game further with the cleaver use of social media.

April Sale Prices On Xbox Live Marketplace

The below video is apparently a leaked Modern Warfare 2 Stimulus Package DLC Video from ConsoleTech:

The new MW2 maps pack due for release on 30th March 2010 on Xbox 360 called ‘Stimulus Package’ will feature 5 new maps for the game, two of these lifted from the original Modern Warfare. Priced at 1200 MS points they are not cheap and it will be interesting to see what the uptake is once they are released.

The 5 maps forming part of the pack are:

1. Crash
2. Overgrown
3. Bailout
4. Storm
5. Salvage

Bailout is a wide style map set in an apartment complex.  Salvage is a smaller snow type map based in a junkyard.  Storm is set in a series of abandoned warehouses in the middle of a thunderstorm (funny that) and should be a good map for larger team battles.  The final two maps are Crash which is an urban map with a downed helicopter in the middle and Overgrown which is another wide open map that suits snipers well.

New MW2 Maps – Video & Information

For the first time in 2010 the prices of the Xbox 360 have seen a slight rise as Microsoft phase out the Premium version of the console leaving the Arcade entry level model along with the Elite and Super Elite.

That’s not to say things are all bad for the 360 as prices of the Elite which is being positioned to replace the Premium console have seen a drop as of late with some retailers offering the new middle of the range console for less than £150.

Stock has unfortunately run out therefore prices are across the range are at the highest they have been in 2010.

Microsoft will be looking forward and positioning themselves ready for the forthcoming release of Project Natal which is sure to boost sales further and increase competition between online retailers which in turn should help introduce lower prices and better offers.

Xbox 360 Prices Rise During The First Part Of 2010

With figures released by the consumer electronics website Experian Hitwise it is the first time in three years that the Nintendo Wii has not been the most sought after games console, while the video game Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 continues to sell well following its launch last month.

Games consoles including the Xbox 360, Wii and PS3 are sure to feature heavily this year on childrens and adults Christmas lists alike and are likely to take over the TV this Christmas day.

In a similar story more and more shopping this year has been carried out online than every before. Research director Robin Goad said: “UK consumers are clearly holding out more for bargains this year and have been prepared to order online later.

“The week ending December 5th was the peak in online product searches, so searches for products during that week are a great indicator as to the hottest gifts this Christmas.”

Microsoft Xbox 360 Most Searched For Console

Prior to the patch, online gamers were able to exploit a bug in order to gain an advantage when playing online.

Modern Warfare 2 Gets Javelin Patch On 360

The xbox 360 was launched in the UK (Europe) on 2nd December 2005 making it just over 4 years old now and hasn’t time flown since then.

With so many great titles and advances the xbox 360 has had a great 4 years even if reliability and the dreaded RROD have marred things slightly. Things have moved on in those 4 years and with new chipsets the reliability issues have reduced.

Some of the original launch titles are still worth playing for those who are late comers to the console, Perfect Dark Zero, Kameo Elements of Power, Condemned and Project Gotham Racing 3 were the main so called launch titles and both PDZ and PGR3 are still worth playing if you have yet to do so.

Other things that we have seen include:
A new and improved dashboard
Avatars similar to the Wii
Social networking on the 360 with Twitter, Facebook and Last.fm
New versions such as the Super Elite to compete with rivals and user demand
Exclusive titles such as Halo and Forza

Overall the 360 has had some ups and downs over its 4 years to date, with future developments such as Project NATAL due sometime in 2010 things are really looking up for the Xbox 360.

Happy 4th Birthday Xbox 360!

The length of the delay at the moment is unknown and until both sides can come to an agreement the feature will not be added. The BBC wants the service to be provided free of charge as their costs are covered by the UK TV licence fees, however it appears that Microsoft want to charge for the service the same was as they do with additional download content on Xbox Live.

A spokesperson from the BBC says:
“This does not fit with the BBC’s model and Microsoft will not budge at the moment. It is really frustrating for those involved on the BBC side who want to make sure iPlayer is rolled out on as many popular entertainment platforms as possible.”

Given that the iPlayer is already available on PS3 and Wiii it seems that Microsoft are behind the times a little now in providing additional features by dragging their heals over this issue.
