Microsoft Xbox 360 Most Searched For Console

The Microsoft Xbox 360 has been confimed as the most searched for console this Christmas ahead of its main rivals the PS3 and the Wii.

With figures released by the consumer electronics website Experian Hitwise it is the first time in three years that the Nintendo Wii has not been the most sought after games console, while the video game Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 continues to sell well following its launch last month.

Games consoles including the Xbox 360, Wii and PS3 are sure to feature heavily this year on childrens and adults Christmas lists alike and are likely to take over the TV this Christmas day.

In a similar story more and more shopping this year has been carried out online than every before. Research director Robin Goad said: “UK consumers are clearly holding out more for bargains this year and have been prepared to order online later.

“The week ending December 5th was the peak in online product searches, so searches for products during that week are a great indicator as to the hottest gifts this Christmas.”
